Power To The People

by GEM Magazine / Mar 31, 2015 / Comments

Most people nowadays have an underlying feeling that all is not right in the world. We are told that this is just the way things naturally are and that we must accept it. Endless war, poverty, environmental degradation. Not only is the world not naturally this way, but there are special interests who specifically engineer this state of affairs for their own personal gain. Special interests make vast amounts of money promoting and selling war and the entire cost is passed on to the taxpayer.

Corrupt politicians and corrupt media sell the wars, and corporate banks make money every step of the way: on the arms sales, on the loans they offer to purchase them, and from the no bid contracts for reconstruction as well as on the loans required to fund it. Consider this: America has been at war for 214 out of her 235 years of existence.

The people of course are the ones who suffer and pay for the war and – win or lose – are stuck with the costs; therefore they always have to be sold on a new war. There are 3 ways this is achieved; see if any of them sound familiar:

1. Dehumanize the enemy: Case in point is the demonization of Muslims and Islam in general as a large part of the campaign that gives the powers-that-be the diplomatic cover to go into foreign countries to destabilize their political system and control their resources. Syria and Iran are the next targets on the list and Russia has been defending them, so all three are being demonized with heavy propaganda.

2. Convince the public they are better: Ever heard of American exceptionalism? The Nazis also thought they were the superior race before they went on to ravage Europe.

3. Convince the public they are exporting a higher ideal: We are bringing them freedom and democracy, or so we are told. The reality could not be further from the truth. The last five countries we have bombed or invaded are completely failed states and have truly become hell on earth. Somalia, Sudan, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq are worse off than they have ever been and they are asking our permission to do the same to Syria and Iran.

The good news is that they cannot do this without us… They need our consent. We drop the bombs, we fire the weapons, we are the police, we are the military, we are the journalists and we are the teachers and the bureaucrats. When we cease to participate, it's over.

So what is The Peaceful Revolution? Historically, it started the moment when the East German people realized collectively that the Government could no longer rule without the consent of the people. The police and the military joined with the protesters and the Berlin Wall fell very quickly soon afterwards. Every single day, more and more people are not only hearing this information, but coming to understand what it means. Sooner or later everyone will know and everyone will understand.

The truth is we have much more in common with the people we are bombing than the people we are bombing them for. Global leaders have long divided the people they wish to rule along any lines possible, real or imaginary: Political, Racial, Religious Gender, Class, Sexual orientation and Tribal and it has worked like a charm. The time has come to raise our consciousness, become aware of their game and come together.

Keys to the Peaceful Revolution:

1) Find Common Ground – Reject the divisions that the political class have always used to control the people.

2) Non Violence – Violence only legitimizes the existence of the Police State. "War is the health of the state."

3) Take Responsibility – WE BLAME SOCIETY… BUT WE ARE SOCIETY. We absolve ourselves of our responsibility through our politicians and institutions because it’s easier to blame others… and which leader in their right mind would come forward if they were not supported by the people?

Remember: If wars can be started by lies, peace can be started by truth!
